Youth Ministry

Youth Culture can be an awkward, amazing, and scary place all at the same time.  As middle and high school students attempt to navigate all its challenges, our desire is to be a safe place where students can engage the gospel of Jesus Christ and its implications for their lives as they wrestle with tough questions, worship together, serve together, and do life together.

Deeper Summer Small Groups
Deeper small groups are a chance for our middle and high school students to grow in their relationships with Christ and each other as they meet each week to study Scripture and/or do a book study together.  Books that students will study are based on Scripture and address the issues that students face on a daily basis.  Also, each Deeper group will have two fellowship events this summer which range from Braves games to cookouts to movie nights.  Below are the days, times, locations, and book studies for each group.  Groups will begin the first week in June and will end the first week in August.

How can parents help with Deeper Groups?  Parents can help in two ways - First, challenge your students to be a part of these groups, they provide important opportunities for middle and high school students to grow in their relationship with Christ and each other. This is summer, so I know that students will probably not be able to attend every week, but that's okay, don't let that keep your teenagers from getting involved.  Second, we need snacks for our groups.  At the first group meeting, there will be a snack sign up sheet for parents, so if your students are going to be a part of a Deeper Group, please sign up to bring a snack.

Summer Mission Trip - July 10-17, 2010!
This summer we took a group of middle and high school students and families to Fairmont, WV for our summer mission trip.  While in Fairmont, we ministered the love of Christ to needy people as we repaired and improved the homes of those who don't have the ability to do the work themselves.  It was an incredible opportunity for both the adults and students who went.  For more information go to http://www.mtwfairmont.blogspot.com/.

"The gunfire around us makes it hard to hear.  But the human voice is different from other sounds.  It can be heard over noises that bury everything else.  Even when it's not shouting.  Even when it's just a whisper.  Even the lowest whisper can be heard - over armies...when it's telling the truth."
